The soles on my Hyperflex booties for cold weather wore out in places after 5-6 sessions, got them from a kite store, maybe kite boards do not have the anti-slip like a windsurfing board? My O'Neil Superfreak booties for warm weather have lasted a lot longer, several years, but was getting wear through in some spots. Resoled them both using Weldwood contact cement and truck tire inner tube rubber (thick). See pics, the new soles are a lot more durable and provide better protection against sharp objects. Need to use mini clamps for the toe area to hold the rubber in place until the contact cement cures. Other than the soles, both booties were in great shape, look forward to years more use out of them both.

you mean the bottom of the rubber soles?, the thick inner tube tire rubber is actually very grippy, and long wearing, based on the Hyperflex booties which I resoled two Winters ago, no difference in traction on the board in cold water. Will see how the Superfreaks are with the resole in warm water.
Hello, Sandy,
I wear boots all the time and the soles wear out eventually. I used to use a paste sole replacement made by Selleys, called Sole Grip, www.selleys.com.au/products/adhesives/specialist-adhesives/selleys-sole-grip/, but it is no longer available. Perhaps you might find something similar in the US. One application of the paste lasted more than 12 months and the grip was deadly.
I've recently bought these: www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-Pair-DIY-Stick-On-Full-Soles-Heel-Palm-Shoe-Repair-Anti-Slip-Grip-rubber-/143602977728 and again, they might be available in the US. Not sure about the included adhesive, so I'm currently searching for one. Best I've come up with is Selleys Shoe Fix: www.selleys.com.au/products/adhesives/specialist-adhesives/selleys-shoe-fix/.
Hope this helps.

I have used Seamgrip for small repairs, but the issue with the Superfreaks was the sole was too thin to begin with, so when they started to wear through decided to add the thick rubber resole. Will see soon how they feel, but has to be better on sharp things in the sand.
The truck tire inner tube rubber I have is a solid 1/16" thick.
Sandy,
I measure the soles at 2.5mm thick = 98.5 thousandths, about 3/32". The soles are textured for extra grip.

Found them on ebay, thanks, $9, look like the original sole pattern on my Superfreaks, but I really think the truck tire inner tube rubber is a longer wearing rubber, will see. I use the Superfreaks like 95% of the time so will find out quickly. Of course, I have a huge truck tire inner tube to cut up into as many soles as I could want! And the Weldwood contact cement works well with the inner tube rubber, no sign of separation on my Hyperfex booties after more than 2 years.
Got the Superfreaks with inner tube soles out on the water/board today, worked great with no slipping on the area of the board I painted white a while ago. The original soles on the Superfreaks would slip sometimes on the painted areas if I was not careful. Very happy with then, and did not feel any sharp stones either because of the thicker soles.
I love a good booty (or even a pair of them
) but I can't work out what's wrong with this R sole.
Whoosh over Sandy's head!
Hoping someone who is not on my hidden list replies.
Yeah , so , here's the thing .....

I never said that . Although it was good , I cant take credit for it . It was Sparky , the other cat . The red headed ranga.

, keep bumping!
Note: I always have glued the inside of the inner tube tire to the soles of a boot, or anything else, because it does not feel slippery like the outside, also scrub it down with 70% isopropanol to remove the whitish powder that is on it.

I can picture Sandy's house with inner tube stuck to everything . Bottom of mugs , cutlery handles ,tv remote , door knobs etc . Or anything else .
I once stuck inner tube to my fin to give it more grip so it wouldn't spin out . Problem was it got too hot .

Anyone who couldn't be bothered to read from the beginning would of thought it was you though until you posted that. You should of kept quiet (-;

I never swear and would not have used the R word . (As in R sole ).
Boy do you have issues, seek some help, I can hear you crying out for help! And I still have you hidden, so I can not see what your saying, but seriously, get some help!
He wasn't keen on the contact cement being applied but at least he's not slipping off the sofa any more.
