Hi guys, just wondering....
I have an nice older board that I really really love!
The surface nonslip granular stuff around the mast is mostly gone now and I am wondering if you know any nice way to refurbish....
Any recommendations?
Thanks.
Acrylic dust and clear epoxy is standard.
I use crushed table salt and clear acrylic spray paint.
Mask area, spray a medium coat, sprinkle crushed salt, spray a light coat, allow an hour to dry.
Hi LeeD, ... thanks a lot. Can do.
Why do you choose salt ... so you can melt it away if it needs replacement ...?
..actually that is pretty genius :-)
Salt is just easy to get. While acrylic dust is the standard, my hardware store doesn't carry it. Cheapest I found it in the US was $32 shipped. And, once you cover salt in acrylic paint, it's pretty similar.
But, if you're inclined to source the acrylic deck dust and proper epoxy, instructions are here: boardlady.com/nonskid.htm
