Interesting, as an aside - on too long a mast. Nobody who is anybody has done that for years as it is a mortal sin. Hmm were we lied to...? ![]()
Nice photoshop Barnman
I wish I could do that like you GenY people do. You could get a job doing Severne banners (after James' latest ![]()
)
I am serious though. They sold us on the need to have exact masts, and there is the GURU using a sail with 20cm poking out the top. I have not seen a pro do that fr a long long time. I was hesitant and felt very unhardcore rigging my 4.2 on a mast with about 4cm excess.
Back to the basics with no shame in having a long one.
That's cool. Even maybe kewl.
If Robbys got a stumpy everyone will now say "thats cool", Im guessing in a few months time thats all you will see at your local beaches.![]()
Im agreeing that all the sheep will spend their hard earned to buy the same gear as the pic thinking that now they are cooooolll as Robby.![]()
He could have a beach towel hanging of his pole and people will buy it. lol
Great marketing on his account.
Like you said "you were hesitant and felt unhardcore rigging your 4.2m with excess"
I was noticing the great bunch of wrinkles up top, maybe from the wrong mast?
personally if it was one of my recuts id be unpicking the head as soon as I got home.
I do love the colours . im assuming the bizzarepanels and cut are purely to sel sails![]()
"apparently" pic was taken during a photo shoot for the 2014 catalogue; they can still photoshop the mast ....![]()

Wouldn't be the first time a vestigial structure has become fashionable. Who'll be the first to sneak in 2cm of extension and boast "mine's bigger than yours"
