Due to the COVID travel restrictions this event is now not a national championship. However a NSW event will still go ahead. The Raceboard and Techno Challenge will run from Saturday 23rd January to Tuesday 26th January. We will have course racing on Saturday and Sunday and Marathon / Relay / Novelty races on Monday and Tuesday. There will only be one Marathon race. If you have a longboard come along and enjoy the camaraderie and competition at Saratoga.

You can find all the details and enter at
www.windsurfingnsw.com/join/

If conditions allow we hope to be able to hold a Raceboard National Championship as a 3 day event around the weekend of April 17 & 18.

It's up to you to do as much or as little of the racing as you want. A great time to come to your first regatta.

Day 1 of the rescheduled Raceboard Nationals got underway today at Saratoga Sailing Club. Race 1 and 2 were held in a 8 - 18 kn Southerly, with Nathan Clift taking out the first race, with Richie Reynolds winning Race 2 in a record fast time following a massive left swing during the final countdown.
After a lunch break, Race 3 and 4 were in a 7-12 kn South Easter. Unfortunately after a good first session, Nathan took himself out, slipping while launching and fracturing his ankle. We wish him all the best for a speedy recovery as his partner is expecting a baby on Monday!!!! Richie won the two afternoon races.
We have a big contingent of Sprint fleet competitors, with many doing their first regatta here at Saratoga. Francois Horion is leading the Sprint fleet, followed closely by Denis Kolmerschlag.
First possible start tomorrow is 11 AM.

Day 2 ended up with light no wind so we were unable to have any windsurf racing but we did get in an impromptu SUP relay race with team 2 lead by Steve Newman cleaning up.

Day 3 after a short postponement a light South Easterly filled in allowing us to get 3 non planing races in - just! during the last race the wind pretty much disappeared. Well done to local John Doolan winning heats 5 and 7, with Richie Reynolds taking out heat 6 after a strong start in that heat by Steve Newman.

Many thanks to Saratoga Sailing Club for hosting the rescheduled event, a great club atmosphere welcomed our fleet, we had many first time entrants who really had a great time.

After windsurfing and competing in the various sailboard racing classes (Windsurfer, Div II, Foiling & Raceboard) for 39 years I cannot put into words how thrilled I am to have finally been able to attend a National titles at my home club. I'm even more thrilled to have placed so well.

I'd like to thank our dedicated Raceboard organisers Lissa McMillan and Richie Reynolds for their organisation of yet another great Regatta. Without them Raceboard competition in NSW and Australia would not be anywhere near what it is.

An enormous thank you to Saratoga Sailing Club for hosting the event, providing the race officers, safety boat crews and the super friendly and organised canteen service. I'm so proud to be a member at this fantastic local club who have welcomed the sailboard fleet with open arms right from the start only a few years ago.

Congratulations to Richie and Lissa for their superb results in taking out the open divisions for the Men's and Women's divisions. Congratulations also to Francois Horion for taking out the Sprint division.

It was fantastic to see so many new sailors competing in the Sprint division, for many it was their very first Regatta. I hope to see you all again at next season's NSW Raceboard series events.

Congratulations also to the many weight and age category winners, in what was a very close fought Regatta in mixed and testing conditions.

See your all next year.
