The sailing club recently had a couple of rsx boards donated, only problem is they're in need of mast bases. I believe i could still get them online, but looking to
A. Sort it on the cheap
B. Be able to use the much more typical euro pin on them, as the neil pryde cup fitting i can fore see screwing everyone over that might want to wonder up and stick a wave sail on it.
these are going to be learner boards essentially, so not looking to go racing on them, just maintain them and make them useable.
anyone familiar with something that might work outside purchasing new fittings?
any advice appreciated
Standard RSX base is a Euro pin.
They have the same track system as most of the modern race board's do, like Starboard Phantom's. Not sure how you would do it on the cheap, not sure you even want to. The connection between the board and rig is pretty important, you just need the correct base.
They do make a good learner board in terms of stability, that is wide and short, we have used them a lot with cut down fins for learners. They can be hard on knee's if the student is doing a lot of falling off and climbing on
Sweet, thanks. I was envisioning them being something unique to RSX/hard to find, with Olympic tax attached. Will probably just get the right bit in that case. The less messing around the better.
