Im off to Plantation Island(Fiji) on a family holiday at the end off June early July, is it worth taking a board along? i know they have some big boards there but if the trades get up I thought it might be good to have something a bit smaller.Anyone been there?

In my experience with fiji resorts( not incl safari lodge mind you ) they usually have big old learner stuff which is half knackered anyway....so would pay to take all your own gear....

From my fading memory Plantation Island is in a fairly sheltered bay

I would take your kit as the wind that time of year should be good. The resort is in a wind shadow you could dredge out through to the wind line or get the Fijians to take you out in a boat (I did this from Malolo Island) where you can rig up on a sand bank at low tide (just out the front of the bay) and blast along on nice flat water away from the reefs
