The event highlight video is now online:
Thanks for posting Al.
Those conditions looked pretty good to showcase windurfing at that level.
Congrats to all the helped. looked like a good event to be apart of. ![]()
That segment from 0:58 to 1:08 would have to go down as one of the most beautiful shots I think I've ever seen of wave sailing. It just captures the essence of it. Gives me goosebumps.
really good vid and amazing looking spot.
it was a shame the kiting event couldnt be incorporated.
but it looked pretty offshore for kiting, do you think it couldve been held in the same locations?
or were other spots more cross?
was there enough wind to run a kiting contest???
cheers, just curious thats all.![]()
that's excellent ![]()
having pretty much lived there for many years, knowing how nice the waves are, and often wondering if there would ever be a windsurfing event held there, it's like a dream seeing your vid

It wasn't that offshore at Phillip Island - Sandy Point was. The wind on the Friday was pretty fluky and would have been difficult for kiting competition, the Saturday was better and there were guys kiting a few banks downwind at the next car park. You can always move further west to find more side shore wind but the swell gets smaller. Woolamai is always gusty though and is really only suitable for advanced kiters.

cheers man,
keen to check it out sometime!
what is the wind and swell generally like this time of year? (next few weeks or so?)
Pretty hit and miss. Weather has been funky the last few weeks. If you were here for a week it would be unusual to get less than one or two good days though.
Awesome video, well done
Just one observation, not a single jump in the video. Was this a deliberate decision?
