Hi all,

I recently have been scammed by sending a kite to a guy called Marco Romano in Margaret River, Perth.
the transaction was through PayPal, and I thought I would have some protection but they were incompetent even after I provided tracking.
straight after sending payment he claimed that I did not provide tracking detail and this action suspended the payment. Even after sending text and tracking paypal decided he was entitled to a full refund and I am at a loss of $350

In short, PayPal transactions are useless, Don't use them. Wait until the money is in your hand before sending anything.

if you see a guy using a 7m Orange and Green F-One Bandit kite in Perth please smack him in the head.

Well another case solved by the sea breeze forums. The only question remains is why was this posted on the windsurf forum?

Why was it posted at all?
Fair enough marco's name rang a bell as I'm in WA but it took me all of 30sec on Google to find his FB, name, location and mobile number as he owns a business. Yeah we hate scammers but not hard to do the ground work before ranting online to have a go at a bloke who is actually straight up.

Actually in the beginning he was late with the shipping and I was forced to open a PayPal report .
I just realized yesterday paypal gave me the refund for it but I was not able to text him or to use internet .

Hi all,

This case may be closed. Received a payment from Marco just now.

Not sure why this ended in the windsurfing forum, should have posted in General.

The point here is, I don't know this buyer and a simple request to PayPal stopped payments and the decision by PayPal was made to provide buyer a refund despite all of my communication evidence and providing a tracking number.

@Marco, the kite was sent the day after the payment had come in, not sure why but this seemed to take a while to process. It wasn't instant. And then you stopped communicating altogether. To me this looked like a bad deal. At least thanks for the reconciliation.

Sorry all for the disruption. This case is closed.

Does anyone else send the goods before receiving confirmation of payment? I've sold many items on seabreeze and will only send goods once payment is in the bank.

^^ problem with paypal is they tell u immediately that the funds have been paid
Then if the buyer disputes it was sent, the seller can be stuffed (this shows it)

But to be fair i recently had the opposite with paypal where fake chinese crap was not refunded on AliExpress and they could not understand the tech details (Chinglish on emails)
Lost the fight with Ali, they could not care less. Went to paypal and said hey look at the lies in the description, bang - refund.
