His YouTube channel is pretty good too. Hope they gain some traction again in the PWA with him involved.
I hope he realises how much work/time will be needed to fill the role, but form a marketing perspective for the PWA excellent choice.
Not sure he is the righgg guy for the job. My wife won't watch his videos because he is always whining about something... PWA president needs to be someone everyone else can go to with their whines.

I've never thought he was especially whiny.

Yeah, me either.

To be fair, I think he's probably perfect for the job, YouTuber, competitor, windsurf shop owner and now, the PWA president. Nico can't still still for five minutes, he has a hyperactive personality (I mean that in a good way).
Nico dropped a few bombs in his latest vid suggesting he is keen to fix cracks in the pwa. I wonder if it's a fin v foil thing

whilst he would never get to be a rugby player in terms of his mentioning various ailments niggles and or injuries I would never call him a whiner. I hope he does well he seems very popular with other athletes on the tour.
I've always though obstacle jumping was a bit silly for serious racing, it throwing a big element of luck into proceedings, but the actual sailors seem to love the idea.
X training clips are online and it looks .... SICK!!!!!
I'm reserving judgement until it actually happens.
Sotovento fin slalom racing doesnt need any added extras. Maybe the 6 bouy with a couple of short legs to add some extra gybing skills to the racing would be good.
If they race at Pozo, they could make the normal format more interesting by clipping the edge of the wave area by putting gybe bouys in the area to include some sailing over swell.
The jump over a sausage is a recipe for injuries and broken kit. The sausage needs to be 50m long to give the sailors some room if all 8 hit it arrive at once.

I agree with that.
But which actual sailors?
I think Taty said a while ago why not leave it as it is for a season to see how it goes. The last decent racing for FINS was 5 years ago before covid/foils arrived. That might have been an initial response, he might change his mind. But I get the impression if El Presidente puts a youtube video up it wont contain negative responses.
I'm definitely in the "this is the best idea ever" camp. Predicting this is gonna make foiling look boring and get more sponsors into the sport.

last season had some killer fin races
last season had some killer fin races
You mean in some heats people sailed with fins. Foils dominated the results.
A couple of heats were all fins. Foils were definitely faster around corners which gave them a huge benefit overall.
but I enjoyed watching the fin sailors. I would have been happy to watch mixed fleets for another season.

Others might disagree![]()

I'm seeing heaps of shorts on Instagram Sue. Amado on board cam looks like he is on a kite, big air.
