Only had experience with cleat style outhaul systems and been from the full double sided down to one boom one sided as I've sold and updated gear. Looking again at setting up a double sided system and after some forum searches cant find much reference to people using the strap"n' buckle type. Sailworks and Unifiber are several that look the goods, but do they work?

Do you think you can operate a strap buckle without looking at it?

I bought one as it was cheap, got it out of the pack, saw how it operated, then binned it.

That's probably a good reason while they don't feature in to many forum threads on outhauls.

Where can I get the cleats without the other hardware that is usually included ?
(already have a selection of small kite pulleys)

I ran with double sided strap outhauls on my wave booms for years. They are definitely harder to pull than the clam cleat and pully. I wouldn't use them for general free riding unless I was inclined to throw my sail around a lot. Then the clam cleats can get in the way. Otherwise clam cleats are much better.

Loft sails used to all come with a cord and strap system that I never bothered trying to setup. Anyone ever tried to use that?
