Sorry to be a real nuffa with this one but:
I've got an old Wayler and don't want to use a tie-on boom just for a slightly bigger sail than the Wayler storm sail. I've got a slightly newer 2-piece mast and 5m sail and boom but the mast is a larger diameter than the Wayler mast base. Obviously it has no mast extension and would put the boom too high even if it did. Is there some sort of sleeve or adapter made for this situation or is it just the wrong mast type or is this just another DIY situation caused by sailing 40 year old equipment? Cheers for your eye-rolls and possible advice.![]()
I had a similar situation when I got back into windsurfing. I used a split PVC reticulation pipe as a spacer.
i have been more often in the inverse situation and there is an old mast extension that works
mast base LARGER/wider than the mast extensions and masts

Roger that. I had a feeling an approach like this may have been the answer but thanks for letting me know that it actually works! Man, I can't wait to get some gear from this decade one day- maybe next decade, eh?![]()
