I just want to share images of these boards from my collection:
7'6" Bombora Proto, designed by Mark Paul, shaped by Alf Jefferies 1983, drop wing flyer swallow tail with spiral vee and tri fin set up with genuine 1983 Bombora footstraps
8'2" Bombora Proto, designed by Mark Paul, shaped by Alf Jefferies 1984, double flyer winged pintail single fin with genuine 1983 Bombora footstraps. Additional forward "purple" footstrap added in 1984 aftermarket.
8'4" Blaxell Surfrider, shaped and designed by Darryl Wilkes, single fin gun pintail genuine 1984 gaastra footstraps
They don't make them like this anymore. I hope people can enjoy these images.
I had the 8'2" New Toy production version of that proto. Not a work of art like yours but a brilliant board, even by today's standards
It's stretching my memory, but wasn't the New Toy more like the left board? Single winger swallow tail?
I left this Bombora New Toy on the verge 2 weeks ago , with a yellow Strata Fin and it was gone within an hour.
It was a while ago....thanks for rekindling the memory! The one I had was an early production run which was faulty. It was chucked out after it went spongy underfoot. I rescued it from the rubbished skip, drilled out the soft spots and pumped it full of foaming resin. It sailed great after that. Jumped and turned too. Absolutely bullet proof!
