North Sails have been a follower, and not a leader, for about 15 years now at least, when it comes to windsurf sails.
I think that they should just stick to racing sails for sailboats, they are very good at that.

Wats the go with the batten layout?

Is the idea: More stability in the top where it needs it, more responsive in the engine??? Inspired by 3 battens?

Yeah but the 5 year warranty is not valid in Australia it seems.

Good morning oldskool and Wood Duck,

The Jman and I have a mutual friend who had the stitching come undone at the foot of his slalom sail, after about 18 months in service. The sail had been used only in slalom conditions and as stitching problems usually are due to incorrect penetration of the needle through the material (I work in the garment industry), the sail was presented for repair under warranty. Our friend was then told that the North 5 year warranty did not apply in Australia and that the warranty was limited to 1 year only.

Fortunately, the dealer stood by our friend and paid for the repair. May I say that the dealer also did not know about the limited warranty until this problem occurred.

It would be helpful if the North sail importer could clarify: is the 5 year warranty applicable in Australia?

Hi WindmanV,
I can speak on behalf of NORTH SAILS WINDSURF AUS and say that the 5year warranty DOES apply to Australian customers.
It covers any material or workmanship faults.
It does however does not cover, faults in material caused by "wear and tear" such as boards rubbing on sails.

Tell your mate to take the sail back to his local NS dealer or to contact me direct, as i would happily help him out.

We are stoked about the 2016 range of gear and even more stoked to have Australia's biggest and best windsurf retailers backing it.
Happy days!
Josh

Good afternoon, Josh,

Thanks for the clarification and it 'svery nice to have the word from "Authority".

The original problem was resolved by the dealer, so there's no cause to involve you further, but thanks very much for your offer.
