I've an old starboard carve and the nonslip is worn away, so much that it's like ice skating!!
I've tried some of the spray on non-slip and that helps a bit but after a few sessions it wears away again.
Was wondering about getting some deckpads (something like http://www.squid.net.au/product.asp?p=31) and sticking them in key places.
Anyone tried anything like that? May not look the best but willing to give it a go.
Would it add too much weight?

IT WILL ONLY ADD THE WEIGHT OF THE PADS AND WATEVA GLUE U USE .... just mix up some exopy resin .. mix in tones of salt or sugar .. paint the resin/sail,sugar solution on and let it go off ... after a couple of rnses with water the sugar or salt disolves and u ate left with a good grip ...
get some tape so its nice and neat ..
Mixing the sugar into the resin sounds a bit messy..
Have a look at the board lady's page for some ideas. Castor sugar works instead of acrylic dust.

use a disposable foam roller about 3" wide to apply epoxy (uv stabilised so it won't go yellow later)
sprinkle on caster sugar

I used self adhesive grip for baths etc.
Cut it into chevron shapes so it would go on curves nicely.
It works well. Nice and grippy but not too abrasive. Adheres well. No lifting corners.
Neat, easy to apply, not messy and no toxic fumes.
I have deck pads on my 2 boards between the mast track and front straps, they work really well when slogging or gybing, no slip and comfy as well. would even put them on a new board when I get one, the big fish or long board ones are the go or you could even look at some of the SUP pads as they cover a very large area just a lot more pricey. some of the old tiga's had full pads up to the mast track don't know why more boards don't still come like this.
Mystic do a spray can version of the factory stuff, works really well, just needs a realy good shack before you use it..
