Windguru has updated their website, well worth a look. My favourite long range forecast website. www.windguru.cz
Not bad but I still like windyty.com.
Zoom in zoom out and travel the world.
A 9 day look at a moving chart.
No idea how accurate it is in comparison.
Longer forecasts jump around sometimes too.

The windguru phone app is really great. It's just called 'windy'. Very good app.
Erm, have you not been on windguru for a long time? It looks exactly the same as usual. Also interesting they are using the 27km resolution GFS forecast, not sure what model SB is using or if it just comes off the BOM?

Long range forecast....Does it ever work...most sites are just adding graphics to WOW the user...
Ok it depends on what long range means...anything more than 5 days is useless

I disagree.
Because it is unlikely that the 7 day forecast will be correct it stands to reason that it is likely that the opposite forecast will be correct.
If it says it will be windy in 7 days it won't be, and vice versa. I actually use this during the season (September - February) to great success.
Here you go - pretty damn accurate for tricky / windy parts of WA too
you can key in what you are intrested in too

i'm glad that u use the 7 day forecast...my point is 7 -14 day forecast will not give me actionable info...can I cancel the BBQ because on the 7th day it say 15-20kts?

They base the wind charts on MetEye on that weather chart. Pretty accurate most of the time:

Fair call, but I think it is one of the more accurate long range forecast, work petty well for me.
