100% PURE PLANING.
Not everyone lives within easy access of ideal windsurfing conditions. And nor do all windsurfers want to use the current generation of sails that have been designed for use in light to medium airs. Recognising the need for a smaller, significantly more powerful sail, the NeilPryde Design Centre has created the all-new V8 HELIUM.

The V8 HELIUM combines an efficient sail profile and full body shape into a lightweight, easy to rig, tune and use set-up that uses proportionately less surface area to generate considerable low end power. The result is a sail that delivers all the power you need to maximise your enjoyment - and experience the thrill of planing in even the lightest winds.

Interesting bit: The design of the new sail should be based on the logic that the sailor will only need one V8 HELIUM, and that the size of sail they will require will depend on the riders weight. As such, each sail size should be designed to suit a certain user weight range.

Me too, I've been trying to check it out for hours, it just won't finish loading. New computer, good connection.

Try copying this into your address bar and then deleting the extra space: w w w .neilpryde.com/sails-2008/flatwater-sails/v8-helium.html

Is this new V8 Helium really the poo? I can see myself trading in my brand new Ezzy freeride 8.5, if it can really promise substantially better early planing. SUBSTANTIALLY. BETTER.

I kind of remember the same thing being said about the original V8 around 14 years ago.

So it is likely a tighter leech, deeper profile sail. Many longboard racers haven't stopped using this type of sail. Many companies are starting to do this kind of sail now.

i've seen it and felt it and rigged it and it's light, looks grunty as buggery and for the 5 days i had the chance to use it ...........it blew 20 knots + and i was forced to use the new wave and freestyle sails around 5 metres!

howz that for bad luck!
