This is a first for me. I have never had a new carbon boom; I always played in the second-hand market, but I saw an all-carbon boom on sale and bought it.
If you wouldn't mind having a look at the video to see the problem, I am getting a clicking sound as I move the extension. Basically the extension seems to have a little bit of play. I had a look at my old RRD carbon boom, and it also has a little bit of play and I can get it to click a little. Is this something normal for a carbon boom? Is it something to even bother about?
Thanks everyone.

I don't think I'd worry too much about it. Sounds like a bit of play in something, combined with the fact that the boom is closed I quite a bit which makes for some added contact between the tubes inside.

Most booms I've come across make some sort of noise when you start pushing bits around.

I agree no issue
it's the thin bit moving in the fat bit as there has to be some clearance

Thanks so very much.
The only other time that I have bought a new boom is aluminium and am sure that it did not have as much play.
Happy Days!
