Hey guys,

I'm heading to New Caledonia next week with my girlfriend. I plan to get out on my kite at least 3-4 times if I can. Where are the best spots to go or does it really not matter. I'm only going to be able to take 1 kite, I've got a 10m and an 18m light wind kite. Wind Guru show between 8-10kn on the forecast so I'm thinking my 18m, but is windguru the best source for wind there or will I be way overpowered in the afternoons or something? My 10m meter is good from 14-30kn so I'd rather take that, but if wind guru's right then there's no point.

Cheers

I think you've got as much chance of getting to Vanuatu the way you're going!

lol...

I'll answer

10 m plenty enough, wind guru is often wrong in new cal, you're better off referring to the local forecast done by analysts
www.meteo.nc

You'll probably be staying around anse vata beach, you are not allowed to kite there !! Head to the Meridien, walk along the beach to the spot called aquareve.

Windsurfers are friendly here (like everywhere) but you'll cop an earful if you come into the bay
Just follow with the local kiters.

haha it appears I've strayed off the path into the wrong part of the forest. haha thanks for being gentle guys! and thanks for link Sean. We're going to spend a few days around Noumea and then do a bit of a road trip up the east coast. I'll definitely check out the Meridien while in Noumea
