For me, the aesthetics aspect is very important , the weight and handling of the sail too. The nitty gritty technical aspects, I'll leave it to you guys!

Please start planing in the harness and footstraps, Fiona! It's been 2 years!! Every time I see you sail I'm filled with expectation, then disappointed...come on! Come on! Come on! Do you need help? Just ask!!

IMHO the Hellcat was not the best choice for you, but you've got it so for God's sake just GET PLANING please!!!!!!

Back on topic...come on guys, NP make great sails! So what if their booms, masts etc are *ahem* fragile... if you want a good early planing sail, get a V8! If you want a good wave/bump'n'jump sail, get a Combat or whatever...

And if you want a BETTER sail, get an Ezzy!

Haha

I have been planing for the longest time & I am in the harness and footstraps! Please stop observing and criticising me and focus on your own things. Stop picking on me the way you pick on Leona every time she posts something on Bluefinz!

Hey Fiona, I'm not picking on you! I'm sorry if it seemed that way! I'm sailing at East Coast all the time and I've never seen you planing, let alone in the footstraps - and I'm so glad you made it!! Well done!! Just trying to encourage you!

It seems natural to be concerned with the progress of others, especially if they have reached a sticking point. As for me, it took me the longest time to get into the straps, and in fact every achievement to date has been very slow and painstaking. I always want to help people further down the learning curve than me, just as others who have progressed further up always help me out!

Leona is a different story - I get a lot of support on this from the other members; off the record of course. Sorry if that sounds mean but it really is a special case. Better move this discussion to PM if you're at all interested in discussing this lowlife egomaniacal piece of crap

Sorry Laurie...

"NeilPryde is proud to be the manufacturer for the RS:X and the 49er Classes and congratulates all the medal winners in these prestigious and extremely successful Olympic events.

“I am a New Zealander and I have lived in Hong Kong for more than 45 years. The RS:X gold medals going to China and New Zealand gives me a tremendous feeling of pride and personal satisfaction from the NEILPRYDE involvement in Olympic Sailing, the pinnacle of the sport" said Mr. Neil Pryde following the medal race. "
(From the NP web site)

Forty five years ago a New Zealander moves to Hong Kong starts a sailmaking company and lives in obscurity until suddenly rocketed to fame by winning the competition to produce a new Olympic windsurfer.

Mysteriously the winner of the prestigious mens gold medal is also a New Zealander.

A coincidence, I don't think so. Surely it was "a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a rat"
