A banner ad on Seabreeze links to an older windsurfing importer who is selling various Naish Hybrids at quite reasonable prices.

These boards are 2006 models so are getting on a bit. However how do they compare to other free ride or slalom boards?

They are appealing because of the price and their short length would make them easy to transport. However that same short length makes me a little wary about being able to up haul or tack. Plus I don't really know how they'd go in relation to speed and comfort.

I have both the Naish Hybrids & find them exciting to sail for freeride & slalom. I use mine in the ocean & have had some of my best sessions on them. They are well built and I have had no issues with jumping the boards over swells. The short length can be an issue in non planing conditions especially on the smaller 90 litre board. Tacking can only be done if you are planing fast & you are very quick - I have seen it done but haven't managed it myself. Uphauling on the bigger board is Ok but too hard for me on the smaller board. They are a real buzz to sail & fast - but they don't suit everyone. Good value for money.

was always keen on one myself mainly because they run a powerbox fin and I have plenty of fins to suit. now I have power and tuttle and its a pain having to duplicate my weedies, would still like one they are a sweet little board
tacking wouldn't worry me I only ever gybe..
had a few drag races against one in maui last winter and beat him everytime there was one not happy big bloke from texas, I was on a starboard kode 80.
later lent him my gps as he reckoned he was doing close to 40 all the time but he went real quiet when only 28 came up on the screen.
