I was dissapointed that they discontinued my beloved 4 batten Chopper, and redesigned the sail as a 3 batten. It's much less radical than the mark 2 in terms of the super low aspect dimensions - which is what I loved about the original dimensions.
HOWEVER
I got a chance to buy a complete brand new set of version 3 sails so I figured Id give them a go - and I was really really impressed by the handling. I've never owned a 3 batten sail before and I was shocked by how different the performance was - without doubt on even small waves the sail is easier to handle and pumping the sail feels more natural and you get a surfier ride.I would still rig the four batten if I was having a more freewave orientated sail and ranging over a wider area, but definitely in the waves inshore, the 3 batten is a more fun sail.
