G'day, my Girlfriend wants to start windsufing, Im a kitesurfer so im not much good to her. Her mother used to windsurf back in the day, and had bought her some windurfing gear. She is about to start studying at sydney uni and i thought that some lessons in botany bay would be perfect.
Can any of you link me to some good windsurfing lessons, and recomend where in botany bay is the best place to start windsurfing to avoid thoes Bastards with kites ![]()
Balmoral is the only place i know of. Have you told your girlfirend it is a lot harder to learn that kiting?[}:)]
HI Lex,
Another guy we use for lessons if Lachlan Francis and you can get him on 0419128124. Lessons at Botany shouldn't be a problem he'd be the best guy to ask about that.
Cheers,
Sam.
Hi Lex,
Has your girlfriend got any knowledge of sailling? I am sure some of us are happy to help her out, and point her in the right direction.
What sort of gear does she have?
I sail at Botany a fair bit and live local.
Cheers,
Greg

Not sure if it's Sydney or NSW uni, but one of those has a Windsurfing club. I've seen them in botany with a trailer load of gear and some were having lessons, probably from the more experienced members. Might be worth checking with the Uni.
Sydney Uni has a sailing/windsurfing club based at Rose Bay. At the moment they are bit light on for experienced instructors, I think.
Mac Uni has a windsurfing club which has a big bunch of One Designs including a lot of very good learner's sails. This year they have become a lot quieter.
Don't know what's happening with UNSW.
The end of compulsory student unionism and the fact that many students work has really hurt the clubs, but then again most of the members you taught went back overseas anyway.
Lessons can also be found at Dobroyd Aquatic Club in the inner west.
