Hi all, thought I let you know about Carvstar's new Action Cam Mount.
It works on both SDM and RDM masts ![]()
Its absolutely perfect for the 360 Cams - . get yours at carvstar.com

You can smooth off the edges easy enough with some wet and dry sandpaper.
My concern is how close the cam is to the mast. I own a GoPro Max (unfortunately) and mounting to close to anything can cause stitching issues in the video. The Max works best on the end of a selfie stick about 12 inches long or longer. When mounted in this fashion the stick becomes invisible. It wouldn't be a huge job to modify this mount in this fashion, at least for myself anyway. I've been making my own aluminium and carbon mounts for a while. It might be possible to simply modify an existing GoPro selfie stick for this purpose. 8 to 10 inches long would probably be ok.
I can't comment on the Insta 360 in this situation except to say I wish I bought the Insta 360 instead of the GoPro.
Not to criticize this product, but hasn't there been gopro mast mounts on the market for a while that are not sharp and made for windsurfing? I see many videos with the gopro cam is on top of the mast or close to the top. Or have those individuals made those mounts themselves?
sharp metal edges .. what could go wrong with sail material ???
Hi Seanhogan, the edges are as smooth as a babypopo, not showing in this pic but I will update it - they will not do anything to your sail. I used it for quite a while and works nice.

Hi Cluffy, I will attach a pic that shows the Gopro Max on the mast. No need to sandpaper or adjust anything. Works as you would expect it too.

Hi MagicRice, this one is made for Windsurfing masts only / again, no sharp edges. But I know, I need to get another picture on it. Was just too fast .. sorry for that.

Doesn't seem to be any stitching issues there. Nice one.
Yes, Magic, flymount.com and RAM both make them. Maybe others, too. Besides mounting on the mast up the sail, they also work well for mounting to the end of a boom stick. (No, not broom stick LOL)

Why is the front half of the board seem offset about 10-15cm to the left of the rear of the board? Too slow a fps rate and the camera wobbling around? Does this affect show up when watching the video?

Hi Segler, those mounts are different - they all use a screw-tight mechanism which I do not like - reason for making this new mount.
I just would not trust a 400 dollar cam on those mounts when I go rough!
The Carvstar mount is different - nothing to screw down, its the friction and shape of the boom that does the job. It it cant go lost from the mast unless the mast breaks.

Good catch - haven't seen that. So I did have the cam slightly on the left instead of right in the middle. So this must be the stitching effect.
Actually, if the 360 cam is right in the middle, the mast is right in the stich area, however too thick to have the no stick effect.
