Hello, I found this board for sale locally and it looks like a decent one to grab. The person is selling it for a deceased friend and therefore doesn't know what it is (and neither do I). So I was wondering if you guys could tell me what it is and how much to offer for it. They are also selling 15 sails, 4 masts, 3 booms and other miscellaneous equipment.http://www.windancing.com/phpBB/download/file.php?id=69&sid=0d31425afa8bc0333c9c6c17ddcf4b10

Hi,
Its a Mistral Stinger which I think was a wave/slalom board from the early to mid 90s. Not a bad board but like anything of that era, not worth that much. Perhaps a fair value is about $100 to $150 though it looks like its in good condition.
All those sails are probably not worth that much though there are so many that they are worth something.
What its all worth depends on what you are interested in. If you are looking for new gear then its worthless. If you are happy sailing older gear then its worth something, maybe a couple of hundred dollars.
Old gear isn't worth all that much and in that way old windsurfing gear is like old computer gear, basically you buy it to use and if you don't, its a really bad way to spend money.
Thanks a lot, Mobydisc, I will see if I can get it for around that price. I feel it would be a huge upgrade from the plastic covered long board I am now using that is from the 80s.
