Need to replace the fin that comes with my 94 Litre Starboard Kode which is 60cm wide. Currently a 28cm fin. I find I cannot push on it enough.

Anyway, rave reviews about both fins mentioned here. And these companies seem to give it the extra effort whereas Curtis, True Ames etc. have not redesigned their fins for a long time.

Curious if anyone has some recent comments, havn't seen anything about fins lately and we know they can affect our sailing so much.

If I go the Maui Ultra Fins route, and I just freeride with the occasional slash attempt (onshore, small conditions) would anyone recommend the no-spin cross, or the wave version? I'm thinking that as I progress perhaps it would be nice to have the wave fin? Curious if they ride differently.

As for the Makani's I've only seen weed fin reviews (and they were good)

on what is essentially a 94L FSW board, that 28cm is a large-ish fin anyway.
You should not be trying to ride the fin like on a slalom / freeride / race board. You maybe need to ride the board correctly and save your $150.
If you ride it like a waveboard you will find that 28cm is too big as it starts to limit your looseness in the 'occasional slash' and you want more and more each time

The only reason to go bigger would be if you regularly use it at the lower end of it's wind range and need that little bit mor elift.
