I have a 6.1m wave sail that is designed around the IMCS of a 430cm RDM - however the luff length is 462cms which is a lot of extension for an RDM in waves. It just so happend that I broke an RDM on the weekend and was wondering if I could make a 20cm extender for the top of the mast so that I'd only need 12cms of extension.

Other than making sure the top fits well and has enough overlap I can't really see any problems doing this.

What are your views? Good or bad idea?

And in case someone suggests using a 460cm mast - I tried this and it doesn't work at all well.

Cheers & Merry Christmas!

Use the top section as a pole for your new windsock. Once you get a windsock, you will never go back.
