I will be on the market for a full set of cambered sails and masts soon. Just wondering what experienced sailors think about the new Mach6 sizing options? They seem to have spaced them out wider than before with 1m in betwen from 5.5 to 8.5 claiming that Mach6's have wider range. Nobody else apart from Severne seems to be doing it. I have to say that I like the idea of having 3 instead of 4 sails - less damage to my bank account and also less gear to carry around as I don't have a van, but I'm not sure if I'm likely to run into trouble with it.
I have been using NCXs for the last few years, got 5.5, 6.0, 6.5 and 7.5, rarely use the 6.0 as the gap between the 5.5 and 6.5 doesn't feel too big. I very much like how stable and comfortable NCXs are when overpowered, but they just don't have the lower end power, hence the upgrade. I'm 73-78kg, sail mostly in Port Phillip Bay, occasional trips to Lake George and Green Island.
