Nobody knows any info about KA's in our sailing group, and Koshi hasn't been given exact answers from KA users down the lake/beach. We have lent him our masts, but the shape of the sail has always looked wrong.

I told him he probably needs to get a KA mast, but before he does that, I suggested he pop the question on seabreeze and see what the KA guru's say.

For example, If Koshi buys a 2010 KA mast, will it be compatible with every sail KA has made in the past 10 years ? Note: The two sails question, he has no clue what year they are. They looks fairly modern, as they have www.kasail.com on them.

As an example, I use a 460 Severne Redline 100% (around 2007) or a newer 460 Sunshine Infinity 80% mast in my 2009 6.6 Koncept and both work really well. In fact I thought the 80% Sunshine (cheaper) mast felt better than the severne.

Whilst this doesn't specifically answer your question re: the Kult & Kruze, it does confirm that there are several compatible masts other than the manufacturer's specified one.

I suppose it depends on your frame of mind when reading posts, but sarcasm escapes many people.
I too would have prefered a response that dosn't state the seemingly obvious.

Appologies for a seemingly obvious answer but without more information it is hard to answer otherwise.
There was no mention of sail sizes so I could not give specifics about mast length which is sort of pretty important. I still don't know what the sail sizes are?

In 2008 the sails were geared slightly more to a combi curve mast, IMCS mast bend around 15%. The 2010's wil run well on 15-16%.
Both the Kruze and Kult have fairly low amounts of Luff curve so are not majorly mast specific but that said there are some masts that will not perform very well.

If you could tell me what size sails they are, what masts you are currently using and what mast options you have other than KA masts then I will do my best to point you in the right direction.

As Kato suggested some pics would be really helpful as we can then see what is going on with your sails rigged on your currents masts. It may not even be a mast issue but a sail rigging problem???

Koshi, If you look down the LHS of the page you will see a Sail Archive section. Have a look and see if you can identify your sails. It certainly help me to give better mast advice. Some photo's rigged would really be the best though.
If you give send me a PM I will give you my email address

since on the subject of masts mine's a different can a small nick(racer slams his fin on mast when i fell) cause a mast to suddenly just break the top part where the luff tear was? and where the blazesis NP heading for or trend for all? it seems like their masts are getting shorter e.g. 430 for a 7.2? is this meant to buy more masts why are most companies still within the usual lengths!?!?

Absolutely it can cause the mast to break, as can dropping it on a rock. Think of how many different types/directions of load are on a mast it doesnt take much for the stress to exploit a weak point.

Alot of companies are using a 430 for a 7m, why look at it like it's a bad thing if the sails perform better because of it?

Are you blaming someone for hitting your mast when you fell in front of him

not at all mkseven no blaming just happened on a good dayi hate breaking parts that's all and i take every bit of precaution to avoid sand and small rocks..bottom line the sail equipment seems to get more expensive every year and at least let me enjoy them at least 3-4yrs
