I went windsurfing at Wanda Beach, near Cronulla in NSW at 19 April. My sail became detached from the board and in the big waves of that day dissapeard. The sail was last seen in the middle of Wanda Beach approximately 30 m from the shore. It is a Neilpride Zone 5.5 sail of 2008 with boom and mast. I only bought this sail the day before!!

If anybody has seen anything in the last week, please contact me on s_sampermans@hotmail.com or 0418 386 297. I would really appreciate to get (some) equipment back.

Cheers,

Sampie

That sucks Sampie! Unfortunately I'd say that your sail has met up with numerous other rigs which have disapeared to the bottom of Wanda beach. There would be at least a dozen rigs lost in the past 5 years, I think a few more down there could produce an artificial reef maybe?? I live nearby so if I see it or hear from the clubies I will let you know. You may want to ring up wanda surf club as if it had washed up they probly would have seen it.

What kind of mastfoot and extension were you using?

I went out the following day and saw nothing besides floating big logs (which weren't easy to dodge) and seaguls. Sorry champ but think its with the ocean floor gods now if it hasn't surfaced by now. Was it too windy for the 5.5, i just came in on my 4.5 when you arrived.
