Neil's boards go upwind and downwind at awesome angles with a 27cm weed fin ![]()
I've ordered an ocean version to downwind on weedy days - frothing ![]()
Gusty 15 knots, 6.5m sail
Yes that's what i try to do with my new home build. Neil's boards and also Lorch classics line are my inspiration. Best board i try for me on my light gusty wind lake was an old ahd diamond race 72. Long, moderate scoop, not to wide plenty of volume. Back to the future.
When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought I was looking at an old raceboard.
(Probably because I spent the weekend on one.) Enjoyed the video.
What are dimensions of this board?

Very close to a Bic Techno 283 except the weight. I've got one, and it's a great flat water board.
From what i see not so close, lower scoop, wider front part i bet further ahead wide point, so better glide for planning, better upwind. I had techno 283 too many good time on.
