The big race absolutely went off today in perfect conditions!
The breeze was a solid 18 - 22 all the way and I believe there were 179 starters so the fleet was massive.
First across the line was Pete Volwater of Netherlands on a 6.8, followed by world top five sailor Patrick Diethelm. In third place Chris Lockwood on a 7.5 KA Koncept became the first Aussie, ahead of 3 time winner Dan Engdahl.
Big congrats to Chris who scored his best result in the event, ahead of class sailors like Dan, Scott McKercher & Jesper Orth.
A great day and now I'm off to the BIG party!
Is that Toms board still on the beach (blue kinetic/pryde)... I guess he was fortunate enough to have choice.
I see Col is downwashing the leaders.. :-)))))

Seriously though, Great race the LOC. one of the great races of the world!!!
.

Congrats to all who stepped up to the plate and made it.
Congrats to Slowy for the 3rd
I've never seen them post results in the 16 years I've been in WA. Seems they are too spent organising it so once it's over that's it. I find it puzzling but....
Last few years Novak has been putting results up on the windsurfingwa site. Usually after a few days. Good idea of Ado's on the stories. Very interesting for those that were not there.
I made a few phone calls and was told that all the organising and the results are done by the Lancelin Chamber of Commerce. I rang them and they are just checking and finalising the results and they will be released "tonight" - so maybe tomorrow. The bloke at the Lancelin Telecentre said it will be posted on the www.oceanclassic.org web site and "a few other places" - I mentioned seabreeze to him so they may even post them here as well.
Interesting that there are only results for 128 people, when there were 153(?) entrants.
Are the missing places all DNF?
I thought I heard there were 179 starters - there were definitely a ton of DNFs anyway.
I believe there were also a few who were disqualified for missing a mark or two - that's the benefit if having a helicopter covering everything eh?
I came in 108th, and 8th for my division, there were plenty coming in after me, more then 20 I think...
I'm stoked at that, first time and with 4 months under my belt, I cant wait for next year ![]()

Anyone know why the results from the 2008 Ledge to Lancelin have been taken off the windsurfingwa site?
