IMPORTANT NOTICE
ALL LANCELIN OCEAN CLASSIC FANS
In order to comply with liquor licensing regulations, including:- guards required, number of people allowed, fencing, security, extended trading permit compliances (just to name a few), the Endeavour Tavern must now implement certain procedures to ensure the continued traditional Lancelin Ocean Classic “After Party” is sustained.
To combat some of the issues that occurred last year and comply with new regulations we will be implementing the following:-
• Wristbands for all competitors, sponsors and volunteers, issued by the Lancelin Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc.
• Wristbands will also be available to the general public between 15th October to the 1st December 2009 at the discounted rate of $5 per person & ONLY available from the Endeavour Tavern.
• Outside Lawn area will be closed at 6.00pm for Sound Checks, Security Checks and erection of Front Fence.
• 6.30pm Re-Entry and “Last minute” Door Sales provided tickets still available
($10 entry fee on the night),
• 18yrs + Over after 9.30pm (On completion of Fireworks)
It is against the law to allow possession or consumption of liquor by a juvenile on the premises Section 122(2) - Liquor Control Act 1988
• NO ID—NO Entry - If you look under 25yrs YOU WILL BE ASKED FOR ID
(Must be WA Proof of Age Card, Current Australia Drivers License, Current Valid Passport—ALL ID Must have photograph—Section 126 (2) - Liquor Control Act 1988
• Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused entry, refused service and asked to leave the premises (Section 3(A) & 115(2), 115 (4) - Liquor Control Act 1988
Unfortunately, these changes are beyond our control, to some it may seem like an overkill for this prestigious event, however due to the changing times, these regulations must be complied with to ensure that not only does everyone have an awesome time, but in a safe and protected environment.
We thank you for your understanding and look forward to an incredible
25th Lancelin Ocean Classic
January 9th 2010
Reading between the lines it looks like even the traditional "nude runs on the roof" could be out this year?
Bit of a downer having all these rules, however over the last few years the party (After the presentations) has devolved into a boganfest ![]()
I don't think it will effect the event, might even improve it ![]()
Party on, safely, dudes ![]()

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your points.
The party is not run by the same people that run the event. The party is 100% run and owned by the Endeavour Tavern so I can only comment on what I know. I know the goal of the Tavern is to bring the Party back to the Sailors, locals and people interested in the sport rather than just people purely going to the party to get pissed. The problem last year was some sailors & Locals could not get into the party due to the tavern being full. I think the new rules are trying to avoid this happen again. I suppose it will make the party more exclusive which should be good.
The event schedule will be published in the coming weeks and that will include the presentation times etc (We are working on the presentation perhaps happening closer to the end of the race, before the party… this is still to be confirmed).
Your family is very welcome to the party.
All this should hopefully mean that Competitors, Locals and ticket holders can relax knowing they can get into the party with-out a problem.
We are doing our best to control a growing event and thank you all for your support.

I think this is a great idea, having been involved in a ruck in there last year (absolutely nothing to do with me at all, just in the wrong place at the wrong time).
Shame that sometimes controls have to be enforced, but hopefully this is going to make the event a bit more relaxed. Had a great time last year, but there were elements there who had come in for the party from all over the place and had nothing to so with the event - and then they got seriously out of hand.
Just as long as I can get a wristband from Melbourne - I'm coming over for the event. Will be talking to "The Boss" at the Endeavour Tavern on Monday to secure mine.
