Not very tidal at all, water depth may change by only 10cms between low & high tide. Great to learn, sand extends out approx. 150 metres from shoreline to a depth of approx 60cms before then within 5-10 metres changing to mud bottom of about chest deep water through the whole lake, plenty of access points on western side of lake & you don't have to pay $5 to get in which they charge you at Elanda. I'm also pretty sure you cannot take a car with windsurfing gear into Elanda at peak holiday times as a day visitor unless your camping?

I sail lake weyba and as the others have stated it is a shallow lake with minimal tidal change. lake cootharaba is much larger than weyba.

There are quite a few people who sail at lake weyba when the wind is right. If you follow Eumeralla rd to the very end and turn left you will see the large grass area where everyone rigs up on your right. Everyone is very helpful.

Took the girls for a sail at Weyba yesterday.5-10kts. Nice grassy rigging area. Bit of a walk out to sailable depth though.Great for beginners, very few obstacles to worry about. Thanks for the heads up Pete. The girls really progressed in the sandy shallow waters. Top location to build confidence and skills.
