hi all, Kona One are releasing a new board made in Europe. It has a hollow construction and is significantly lighter than early models. There is both a fibreglass epoxy and carbon versions. Just wondering if anyone knows of an Australian importer?

That looks sweet. Add it to my big long list of gear that I would like. If my Exocet 11'8" link ever gives up I would think about one of those.

Richard may still have my old CarbOne, which you should try. Masttrack might need work but it'll blow past your Link and many free ride boards too. Stiff, pretty light, points well when powered and flat out fast.

I'd like that. I am hoping to repair my leaky Link and also fix the footstrap inserts. But I like it in chop much more than the Blast on large sails. Didn't push it too hard but was around 20mph reaching, could try some speedruns. The Carbon models probably are a lot easier to carry around and don't have that heavy soft top either.
That is a very interesting board for sure. ![]()
It appears that the boards are ordered through the website and built to order, so there is probably no Oz 'importer' as such.
With the massive cost of international shipping at the moment, getting one here might be a very costly exercise. ![]()
I contacted Kona in Sweden. They now have a link for ordering:
kona-sports.com/en/articles/2.23.535/kona-one-all-carbon
The price is $3,200 USD plus freight plus customs duty. They won't estimate freight but they say you can order and see what freight price gets calculated, then cancel the order if unhappy. They invoice you before dispatch, so they don't take your money the moment you order. They (Joachim) also said freight would be cheaper if we combine some Australia orders.
I am tempted, but there's still a lot of unknowns.
Joachim at Kona is keen for an Australian group order of the CarbOne, the full carbon Kona. He has mentioned that it may be possibleto buy direct from Thailand. His email address issupport@kona-sports.zendesk.com if anyone is interested
Just placed an order for delivery to New York state. Joachim has not been back to me with freight cost yet. I'll try to remember to update this thread once I hear...

Fellow NYSer here curious about the freight cost.
I've been told $400 or $500. For just one, you're trying to piggyback into someone else's 20 ft. shipping container and there is really no going rate for that. Joachim has been out of touch for the last week, I'll come back with solid details when available.
