I finally got some time to put together this video of my daughter Elli's windsurfing this past summer. She is planning and in the straps and harness now. I hope she will find it to be a nice record of her efforts which we are very proud of. We interviewed her to record some of her feelings and attitudes as she was embracing the sport we were always hoping to be able to practise as a family. Since this footage, she has progressed to real rigs (Severne XS-1) and a smaller board. Her top speed is just under 13 knots. She wants to be a freestyler and her hero is Sarah-Quita Offringa. I hope you enjoy the video too!

Very cool. Looking at getting my 5 year old son into it this summer. Was this filmed at Sanctuary Pt??

All the footage was at Sanctuary Pt in NE winds. In SE-S-SW, a massive area north of the boatramp is magic for kids and speedsailers. This area can only be sailed with one of KEEF's special weed fins. With strong consistant wind, kneedeep and super smooth water its ideal for a fast progression .

Here is a vid of a 13 year old wavesailer ripping.

onya my sailing buddy Elli, elli has amazing balance and a heap of guts and determination, oh did I say determination, I meant DETERMINATION i'm looking forward for the the weather to warm up and some n/easters and another video of her progression at the end of next season
DSeadog send KA360 a PM he will be trying to organize a few kids weekends this year, the spot where Elli was sailing has a weed bed parallel 100m from the shore and shallow , it's onshore so also very safe , the rigging area is totally protected with a playing area for the kids,

Good onya Dad - she's a little goer alright. I've been trying to get my girls into it but I only really go into it 6 months ago and they are 13 and 16 and harder to get them going - maybe I'll have more luck when the weather warms up

Good Stuff she's going great, I will get my kids to watch this vid tonight I have an 8 & 10 yo that started last year so I reckon Elli might provide some inspiration for them.

If you can find some teenage boys who windsurf let them meet them and tell them that boys that windsurf are fit , muscley and hunks....
