It is pretty much just a name change however I will no longer be involved in the design. Peter in the NL will now be 100% designing on a new software that he has developed. The sails have all been redesigned on this software and look great.
It has been a privilege and great fun to be helping with the design for now 12 years but with these changes it is time for me to focus elsewhere. Its in good hands.....

I've got 2 KA sails fro about 14 years ago (a Koyote and a Kult) and since picking up windsurfing again this year I'd been trying to work out what had happened with KA. Was the windsurfing side sold to the netherlands and now the sails have been put under the tribal brand?

Martin thanks for helping to create some awesome sails, I always enjoyed being part of the KA 'club' down at the local spots :)

Yes Albany but on a WSW winter storm front so it's offshore wind. Normally we sail ENE which is onshore. There's a weed bank 1k out from shore which is for the NM runs bit of a video below of the boyz.

I've read this online.
"After 16 years working with Australian Martin Love, Peter Weitenberg is dropping the KA Sails name in favour of Tribal Sails. For a number of years, Peter and Chris Lockwood have been developing speed/slalom fins, and more recently Tribal boards, with a range that is growing all the time. Under the name Tribal Sails, the 2024 range has been completely redesigned for this new start within Tribal Windsurfing. As in previous seasons, there will be 3 slalom/foils/freerace sails, 2 wave sails as well as freeride and beginner sails."

cheers

I know it's just a name change, but it is the end of an era by formally forking off from their Australian roots. I know several others here have been with KA since the beginning. I tested the first protoypes with the original founders (ex Wild Winds) back in 1991. Then raced on the 1st production set of race sails, the Stealth DV. I even had an old 6.2 Stealth DV up till a few years ago when it was discarded (along with the Bombora Xit) . The name change is a trigger to reminisce.

I've owned many KA Sails over the years up to new set of Koncepts that I bought a few months ago. I look forward to seeing the new Tribal versions. Even if it is called Omaha!!
