Aloha,
The Final Round of the KA Sail SA Summer of Speed will be held on Saturday 16th February, at Milang SA. Registration and briefing will be at 12pm and close of sailing at 5pm with recording of GPS screen readouts by 5.15pm. This event is scheduled to be GPS speed 'free-sailing' however we will wait to see the conditions on each day to determine the format (we might throw in some fun slalom races or a marathon if people are keen). If you don't sail with a GPS, you are free to still participate in the event and enjoy the social aspect of the weekend and be in the running for the end of series prize draw. The one-off series entry fee is $40 and this covers competitor packs and boat expenses. You will also need to be a current member of Windsurfing SA or affiliate, and a link is provided here <http://www.windsurfing.org/files/SA_MSHIP.pdf> for the application form. Please bring correct money with you for both the entry fee and Windsurfing SA membership fee as change will be limited. We hope to see you there...
The Proposed Format:
? 12pm - Registration and Briefing
? 5pm - Close of Sailing, with recording of screen read-outs by 5.15pm.
? 6pm - BBQ + Beers, with Trophy Presentation (Mens + Womens) and Major Prize Draw (5.0m KA Koncept Sail).
Early Forecast:
South Central Coast: Saturday - Wind: SE/NE 10/20 knots, freshening to SE 15/25 knots late afternoon.

Hey Chris, hope you are bringing that super BBQ again!
I need to buy some sail numbers! For me and Kym now we are official and all!
Anybody know what the water depth situation is like there at the moment? Last time I was there (Glascraft demo day) you certainly wouldn't want to be using a big fin. ![]()
To anyone thats interested, my JP slalom version 3 109L with 3 select fins will be up for sale on the day at the end of the comp, and due to the crack on the deck which is repairable it will be going for cheap!
Hello,
Have sailed Milang 2 times this week including wednesday (18 - 25 knot southerly) and 5 times this month and it is great. 6 km runs out in a southerly wind direction is neck deep and even close to the bank seems okay. There are a couple of fishing nets 2 - 3 kms straight out but they are marked with buoys - watch out for them! Above the jetty there is an exposed sand bank and is rocky - unforunately the sand bank is too shallow for speed runs. The water is warm. Milang is awesome and the shallower it gets the better![]()

have fun!!!
See you soon.

Here is the results table as it stands after round 3.
In the mens division things are pretty tight at the top between Chris and Tim. As long as Sam sails he sould place third. The race for fourth will be close with both Carl and Andreas both sailing well. Any number of sailors can make the top ten it will depend on who makes the effort.
In the women division it is very close with either sailor in a position to take out first prize.

Any problems with coming up to have a look at what goes on and having a sail without entering the event.
What speed do I have to do to make the top ten? I am currently the third slowest in SA :(
At least Kym is gonna at least come second!
Dave mate i havn't sailed with a GPS yet so you may not be be the slowest.
Rush it's fine for you to come have a sail without competeing. My dad and i have done it all the time and it's great just to sail with everyone. I think i might enter this time now i have a GPS though.

Had a great day at Milang today, wind didnt come in till about 3.30 (?) by then the comp had been cancelled, so presentations all round, then out for a fee sail with 22 other sailors.
Russ and I taught our little ones to sail using phoebes 2mtr Ezzy and a Starboard Go, they absolutely loved it and did bloody well, both were comfortable sailing for about 20 mtrs at a time and the only reason they had to stop is coz they ran out of water
Great turn out today peoples, refereshing to see new faces and the usual suspects,
Winners for the year,
mens
1st - Tim Hearn
2nd - Chris Dimond
3rd - Sam Doecke
Women
1st - Kym Symonds
2nd - Susie Burgher
Not sure of times, but I am sure Rieffo or Chris will put them up somewhere in the interweb.
Kudos to Chris and Chris for all you have done for the sport this year!
Oh, and thankyou Mr KA for the raffle prize I took out today, a shiny new 5.0 Koncept! Giddyup!

Yeah excellent day. All great except for us going through a sail and destroying the front on my dads board. No one really went that fast though which was a bit annoying but still had a good sail and that. Happy with the first time out on the GPS but defently hoping to improve when i get back from melbourne in some more ""speed friendly""" conditions. I must have got a bit soft sailing the flat water at the mouth i think.
Cant wait
