Picked up a new old stock 2019 84l JP thruster quad and I can't get it to fire up as expected. Setup as a quad with 10 fronts and 14.5 back JP brand fins. Jumped off my 96l thruster on solid 25knt day using a 5m 4 batten wave sail. Connected the 84l and had to pump to plane, felt really flighty and got to speed finally, jumped nice but wave riding it was sliding out on top turns then struggled to get going between sets, when before I was getting over powered on the bigger board. Felt very under finned for the 5m sail. Weird as my old 82 rrd, I could swap down board using same sail when it got windy/choppy until sail change.
Looking at JP website and it's recommends 13.5. I'm 78kg. Anyone had experience with quad fin sizes for this power. I was to lazy to put up a 4.5m sail as conditions were good to see if sail was to big.

Your fin size seems max.
I have the same issues with those models from JP, i just never got along with them. No ability to change the sidies position is a hindrance.

Are the rear fins those real stiff things with the narrow tip? If so, i found they killed a non JP board for me. Changed to normal rake with some flex and best board ever.

No experience with a JP but every QUAD I have used I have struggled with anything bigger than a 9 front fin, rear fins I play around with size like normal but as soon as I have gone to front 10's it seems to kill QUAD's for me. I have a similiar struggle with Tri's, never found a setup that feels good.
