Would you recommend a JP Xcite ride 2013 146 a good entry level board for beg/int at 100 kgs and sailing port Phillip bay in Melbourne... And what size sails would work best for port phillip wind conditions?

You say Beg/Int so I assume you have some basic skills, at your weight a 146 L board will need to be planning for you to be having fun. I reckon 7m and up for the sails if you want to be planning. If you want to just be cruising around off the plane in light winds learning basic tacks and gybes then the board will be to small.
The Xcite rides are a good board for the bay.

I don't live in Australia, however surfing principles are same in all over the world. In my opinion that board (which is 146 lt) is not suitible board for beginners. But if you are a talented person than there is no problem you can learn windsurfing with this board. It takes time. 146 lt can handle your weight. For sail size, wind power is very important. If you give me some details about the wind power at Port Philip Melbourne I can help you about the sail size. In normal conditions for beginners I recommend 3.5 to 4.0 sm sail size. This is the same board I used to get started into the sport. My only prior experience was a couple of hours on older gear about 25 years ago. I chose the 146 because I could see that I would quickly outgrow a larger board. I don't regret this choice. Now that I have graduated to a smaller board the 146 still comes out when the wind goes light. One of its great advantages is that the sail range is huge. Check out the specs on the Jp site for what works. You will also need to have the right size fin for the sail size. The big 48cm they supply can cause some tail walking on the plane. If you purchase the Family version, you get a wide range of footstrap positions. This makes it very user friendly while you are learning and progressing.
Get an explorer 145 or funride 130, more stable in high wind. I own an explorer, very good board for beginner to intermediate, got daggerboard as well

purchased the the board today and paired with a np 6.9 firefly 2012 in good cond
unfortunately recovering from shoulder surgery so will be a while before back on the water

Sounds like a perfect combination to me. The Xcite is a very good board for beginner up to intermediate and if you've windsurfed before, the volume and sail size will work well together.
