Dear Guru's,
As someone a couple of years back into the sport (and loving it), I'm now looking at for sale stuff a lot, for myself and others. The thing is, many (most?) of the ads need at least a bit of research to work out what it is. Even then it's sometimes scant info. There's so many more categories than slalom/wave/long when I left years ago! No more freesail to read over and over on the dunny, either....
A phrase in the title and a line in the ad explaining the style the board or the sail would make life easier (and make it less likely the likes of me will skip to the next one).
Just a thought, cheers.
What your asking for is honesty .
I would trust my own research and friends advice more than what an ad says . It's easy looking up the product in the official brochure and getting a good idea .
So many people selling narrow old junk windsurfers for $100 , saying they are the perfect learners board and could also be used as a stand up paddle board .
Great way of putting people off sailing and supping.
If your still confused , send a pic here and we will let you know.![]()
Then eventually arguments will arise and the tin hatters will get involved and tell you the earth is flat.![]()

Not even suggesting that level of recommendation. Just simply explaining *what* it is. Is it a bump and jump board? Slalom? Free-ride? Wave? Same with sails: pure wave vs freestyle vs free race vs race vs ???? Anyway no biggie, I'm getting the hang of things again now, but why not make it easy as possible if you're selling?
