Good luck to all the Australian men and women competing in this huge regatta, below is a link to the results

Only problem is its not streamed live. i'd really love to watch the racing like they've done with Sylvyplana etc in recent years.
Been watching the results of some racers I'm familiar with and it's interesting how the difference in the skill sets required for course and slalom racing show up in the results. One sailor was mid pack in slalom but nabbed a 7th in CR. Makes one appreciate those at the top of the fleet even more.

Including an interview with Will! fb.watch/d82hG9F5J9/
You'll notice the whistle in Will's interview. He was DSQ by the race committee in Race 1 for not having one.
Steve Allen (AUS-0) is sailing like he's 20 years younger.
Great result for young Will McMillian, 34th overall and finished in the Gold Fleet, think that would be the best result for anyone from the Southern Hemisphere at that regatta.
If it wasn't for the whistle DSQ he would be 3rd in the U21's, he's only 16 years old !
What a staggering performance.
Olympic material for sure. ![]()
Not sure if I like the scoring system though. It make it very exciting with the finals but I feel for Luuc V O who dominated the whole event but then ends up with only a bronze because of 1 mediocre race. He was clearly the best by far, (Will beat him in 3 races
)

BTW - Regarding Southern Hemisphere, it appears NZ's Veerle had a 12th finish in the Women's field unless I am not looking at the final results correctly

oops, only looked at the Men when I wrote that, big congrats to Veerle from NZ, 12th overall is amazing and I think Natasha Bryant finished in the Gold Fleet which is a fantastic result as well.
Great to see the growth and the talent from the Oceania region this class is developing,
My problem with this whole event is a lack of coverage. Surely with all the people travelling there and paying entry fee, they could have had live streamed races. Its hard to grow the sport with 1 minute compilation videos at the end of the day. Sylviplana was much better coz we could watch the racing live

gotta be add revenue they can generate to cover streaming.
