Hello all, I’ve got a problem and need some advice.
I thought of a good way to practice moves without getting wet. I got a couple of broom handles and tied them together to imitate a boom and mast and put my board down on the ground in the back yard to practice. All was going well until I looked up and found my wife looking at me with her arms crossed and a strange expression on her face .
Upon seeing me she turned around and walked back to the house muttering something. All I could hear were brief snatches such as “weird” “strange” and I think there may of even been an “insane” and “men in white coats” whatever that meant.
Now I am really worried. Just the sight of a skinny, grey headed bloke, holding two sticks and dancing on a sailboard in the back yard seems to upset her sanity.
Do you think I should try to get her some help?
teach her how to sailboard.. that will get rid of the problem .then the 2 of you can stand out in the backyard practising gybes etc..![]()
That's funny! I used to strap my first windsurfer one design, fully rigged on a typist's chair without the backrest and practice my gybes and tacks. Mind you it was 1984 and I was only 16 years old.
Hey Iceman!
I'm sure you just mis-interpreted what she was saying because you didn't hear her properly.
What she was saying was;-
"At last! Finally an expression of the artistic talent which I always thought he had.
Is'nt that marvellous?
Such grace.
Such smoothness of movement.
I will have to leave right now before I burst into tears.
( and then she leaves, shaking her head in amazement.)
Thinking back now, don't you think that's what it was? ![]()
Now you've got her in the right mood you can put on your seat harness with nothing else, mosie on up to her and tell her you want to try out some of your new "sick" moves. ![]()
Tell her you've come up with a new invention that will enable her to sweep the house twice as fast!! ![]()
When I got my first harness (I was 13) I tied a rope between tree branches about 3m high and just dangled for a few hours.........it was actually quite comfortable.
