Looks like something I .. err .. a mate... bought from those little adds in the back of Picture magazine
looks like the crapest idea ever.. imagine sailing along and your sail moving around like that.. would it even work with the weight of you hooked into your harness... the only thing it would do is f(#k your jumps.. CRAP.. and you would also need to buy a special extension for it to work..
seriously i can't think of a single thing it would work well for.. cause the more solid your rig the better power delivery to your board..,. this is a spastic idea..
Yes I use them when I use my large sail (8.5 sqm) in the ocean. It acts as a shock absorber. It is well made & works well. To date I have broken two euro pins on my uni joint with my 8.5 but since using this I've had no problems. Just ensure that you wash it well to remove any sand after use. You can buy them from Al at Caloundra City Sailboards for about $100
