thought I'd post here to see what other home made camera mounts are out there. I live in the UK, but windsurfing forums are pretty quite here at the moment, thought I might get more ideas for other mounts on seabreeze.com.

my first attempt was a 1 meter long mast mount, I wanted a longer shot hence the 1 meter length. It's made with an old boom clamp, a short section of a broken carbon mast and a section of snapped carbon boom arm. First attempt had a dodgy boom clamp and the angles were not right, so along came the MK2. The MK2 was just an improved boom clamp and slight other changes.

the MK1 took half decent videos, but was not practical because the 1 meter length made it impossible to do. I recently made a MK3 version, at just half a meter long, hopefully it will be easier to gybe/tack. Yet to try it out, but should be windguru soon.

during the Xmas holidays, I'm going to try to make a rear view mount. Maybe attached to the footstrap screws or fin screws! Planing on making it fairly long, around 1 meter and head height. Any one tried this?

I've had the same considerations. Here mounted 0.5 m stick at the boom end

It would certainly get me out of my bad habit of doing overhand grip rig flip on port gybes..
