Driving around today with all my kit in the car and I hear this hissing noise like a Small puncture in a tire. Stopped to investigate and it ended up being the goretex valve in my fox. No idea if it was letting air in or out but it went on for a long time so it was a lot of air. So now I know It works and also makes me even more carful to remove the non gortex plugs from my other board. It was probably only 25degrees in the shed and the car got up to 32degrees so it doesn't take a big temp shift.

on another note got blown of the water an hour later when the wind did the opposite to what every forecast said and picked up massively.

other wise keep them washed ,so you don't get a salt build up .I've got 5 sunova SUPs with the gortex valve ,no problem as such ,and i never had one that hisses at me either ,sounds snakie.
good you got enough wind .

It would of been good if it stopped at around 16knots but it just kept going. I was really worn out from sailing yesterday and really not in the mood for full on completely maxed out sailing today. Came in before I broke something or me.

Make sure you wash them every use in fresh water but not with hi pressure!!! Just trickle a hose in for a minute. You would be suprised how hot it can get inside a car...however never heard a gortex valve hiss. I am thinking it may have been partially blocked by salt so the air only coming out a small area under higher pressure?
