Hi All,

Will be in Hervey Bay between Christmas and New Year staying with family.

Can anyone fill me in on the good sailing spots?

I would like to give Burrum Heads a shot given the positive rap over in the GPS and Speed Forum. When are the best times times to sail there?

Merry Christmas and good sailing.

Rip.

Rip,
I'm on annual leave at the moment and the wife is working right through, so I plan to be sailing at Burrum Heads every day possible between xmas and NY!

As for locations;
Burrum Heads in any wind direction and any tide. Becoming well known for speed sailing during big low tides and strong S-SE winds. (Also has waves) I particularly like it for the very long runs.

Hervey bay only really works on a NE and if it's half tide or higher you'd be better off sailing at Gatakers Bay for nice jumps.

If it SE and you can't get out of Hervey Bay, there is a beach on the Southern side of the boat harbour that works for 2 hours either side of high tide but directly onshore and short runs.

PM me with your mobile number, I will give you a call on boxing day.
Looks like you scored an awesome forecast for your time here, hope you didn't plan to do much fishing
