Hi guys

I went out windsurfing today (beautiful flat water 20-25kts sunny) and I was out there on a vintage 260L beginers board I was given to learn on and a 5.8 sail wondering to myself what the hell I was doing out there still on this ****ty board. I started windsurfing in the winter and have improved enough to the stage where I am in the harness and getting a waterlogged old board to plane at about 18 kts (not super fast but alright considering my age, experience and gear).

So I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on an appropriate board to purchase that I could use in 15-25 kts for blasting around the harbour? and not too expensive.

Cheers

What come to mind to me is something around 20 to 30 liters more than your weight, this should just about float you, you may find it a bit of a struggle, in 15kts at first, depending on how well you can water start in light winds, (a bigger sail than 5.8 may help). but in 25kts you'll find it much more fun than 260l
It is a big jump from 260l and it could be a struggle at first, but well worth it in the end.
50l more than your weight will be easier and better at 15kts, but still a hand full at 25.
