Can somebody please post something relative to windsurfing .
A funny story , board builds , broken equipment \ body , fix picks , questions , pics of bad lawns , hanging it on kiters , all the good stuff that this forum once was .
Now that the tin hatters are gone , all we have is LeeD.
Over the years I've seen a change from fun Aussie slangging to just nasty . People don't post as much because it will just get nasty . I've seen fights break out over a fin flex question FF sake !
What have we become ?
Sadly , this is not the safe fun place it once was .
I heard that if you put a turbine on the top of your sail, you can power a motor that flaps the fin like a bird wing to get you planing sooner.

Sat arvo on the bay, dropped into the tide in weird circumstances. Popped my head up to see the sail all loose on the mast, turns out the downhaul broke. As I bummed around in the rolling swell trying to figure stuff out, the mast+sail decided to slide off the extension as the board and rig got pulled in different directions. Managed to just grab the mast to stop the gear seperating. Quickly created a dury rig and limped back to terra firma.
Food for thought
1: replace ropes even if they look ok. Should know this but have been complacent.
2: spending 5-10mns knocking around in the water is hard yards when you are a few km out to sea alone with broken gear.
3: If the rig had seperated, I reckon I would have struggled to get the gear back together at 12-18knts. 20knts+ would probably result in the long paddle and an abandoned rig...
We had the Pinnaroo slalom yesterday, organised by president Dan, Patrik and Karin. 56 entrants, kept the kiters off the water for a couple of hours.
