After a spell of 10 years I re- entered the water today on my unbelievable Mistral Equipe LCS that I recently picked up from member Saltyheaven. It was very windy here on Lake Macquarie so I went out with a 5.7 and the board performed amazing. I was surprised not to see anyone else out with such a good breeze. The old arms didn't go the distance but I'm back for the long haul will have to get a longer fin Though as it kept spinning out at warp speed.....

The old mistral raceboards are pretty special. I had a brilliant ocean session on the weekend on my mistral one design (see Tasmania thread). Very versatile in a range of conditions.

I use a mistral one design fin about 38cm long on mine. Seems to do the job pretty well without bottoming out on the reefs too much.

Hey Clarence, it was gusting to about 25-30 knots today and my fin is only 32 cms and was spinning out. I don't think the board is suited for those kinds of conditions but I love going fast on raceboards. I might try a 38 fin and see how that goes, mine is the original fin and these days fins are so much better. Thanks for the heads up.. Steve

Hot! Which sail did you choose for today Steve?

Just my Gaastra 5.7 slalom sail, didn't work well with the new mast as it is too thin and the cams kept popping out. The board is so quick, in fact at full speed it was humming a nice whistling tune.
