looking towards my annual non windsurfing related aniversary holiday. ![]()
kingscliff was the much better halfs suggestion. we've been there to salt a few times and i thought of looking somewhere else close by.
i was thinking hastings point. has anyone been there and what do they think. have kids and we all like the beach and the water.
also, what is the point break like? might throw a board on the roof. ![]()
seems like a great spot.
Hi Gesty,
I stayed there with wifey and kids in 2003 around November. The caravan park had awesome for facilities for little kids. -2 small water slides, kids indoor play centre that also did arts and crafts, tennis courts, etc. Think it was called "Northern Star" or something.
I had all my w/s gear, but didn't get to sail there. -no wind. I had a few surfs at Cabarita, just up the road.
I reckon that it would be a great place to sail, but others on here would know better than I.
I had Long Service Leave for term 4 that year and we did a big camping trip up the East Coast from Port Stephens up to Noosa. The only good sails I got were at Port Stephens (Fingal Bay) Noosa river mouth, Caloundra and Redcliff, as there wasn't much wind. (great holiday though)
This year we're heading to Mooloolaba in early August for a few weeks.
-Is it likely to be any good there for a sail?
cheers for the tips bondalucci. sounds great. ![]()
mooloolaba is one of my favourite spots. early august is probably a little early for the season but you have a good chance of picking up a NW wind which is a good direction.
it's a great spot for ocean slalom sailing and wave jumping with waves coming in and cross/on conditions. i am told by the locals there is a bank forming out from the river mouth but i haven't sailed it.
best bit about mooloolaba is the launch is not the usual close out sections you get at most beach breaks so it is user friendly.
